MP Pratap Simha reacts to death of elephants due to electrocution
Mp Pratap Simha reacted to the incident by commenting on the post published by Save Kodagu.
Pratap Simha, MP, said "It happened today morning coz of the live wire that had fallen on the ground and last year elephants have killed 12 people. The conflict between man n elephants started a decade ago n trust me, we don't have permission even to catch the elephants. Solar fencing did not work out. The only solution is proper fencing using old railway beams. It needs the support of state govt coz of the cost is too high. I raised this in every vigilance committee meetings, but our requests got no heed. More over, our forest dept is completely under staffed to deal with the situation."
